Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 3/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough will sweep across eastern Victoria this evening bringing the cooler gusty southerly change to the entire State. The next high pressure system over Bight waters will continue to rapidly move east to pass just south of Tasmania on Tuesday night. The high will slow down as it moves over the southern Tasman Sea on Wednesday and Thursday. A weak inland trough of low pressure will develop over western Victoria on Thursday and persist on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayCooler strong and squally southerly winds extending to the far east this evening. Isolated showers contracting to the east. Local thunderstorms in the east, mainly over Gippsland. Dust areas in the northwest.Tuesday 4 FebruaryIsolated showers over Gippsland, scattered in the east during the morning then clearing during the afternoon. Dry elsewhere. Mild in the south with morning cloud areas but warm and sunny in the north. Fresh to locally strong south to southeasterly winds.Fire Danger -  High to Very High.Wednesday 5 FebruaryIsolated showers possible about the Gippsland coast during the early morning. Dry and sunny otherwise. A generally warm day, though hot over the northwest and milder over Gippsland.Thursday 6 FebruaryDry and sunny. A warm to hot day with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Friday 7 FebruaryA generally hot and dry day with light to moderate north to northwesterly winds. A weak milder southerly change developing about the southwest and central coast with isolated late showers possible.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Tuesday.Product IDV10310
