Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 2/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough will sweep across Victoria today producing a milder, fresh and gusty southerly change which is expected through western and central districts by early afternoon and will extend to the far east by early evening. The next high pressure system will develop south of the Bight on Monday and will move eastwards just south of Tasmania on Tuesday. The high will reach the Tasman Sea on Wednesday with a weak inland trough developing over northwestern Victoria.
Forecast for the rest of MondayHot to very hot at first over central and eastern districts with moderate to fresh northerly winds, but a milder, gusty southwest to southerly change over the southwest will extend throughout during the day, but not reaching the far northeast until evening. Isolated showers and thunderstorms possible near and following the change. Areas of raised dust possible over the far northwest this afternoon.Fire Danger -  Very High, reaching Severe in the north.Tuesday 4 FebruaryIsolated showers over Gippsland, scattered in the east during the morning then clearing during the afternoon. Dry elsewhere. Mild in the south, warm in the north. Fresh to strong south to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 5 FebruaryIsolated showers possible about the Gippsland coast during the early morning. Dry and sunny otherwise. A generally warm day, though hot over the northwest and milder over Gippsland.Thursday 6 FebruaryDry and sunny apart from the chance of isolated showers over the northwest during the afternoon. A warm to hot day with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Monday.Product IDV10310
