Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 1/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A slow moving high pressure system will remain over the Tasman Sea today as a low pressure trough develops over South Australia. The trough will sweep across Victoria on Monday with a milder southerly airstream to follow. The next high pressure system will develop south of the Bight on Monday and will move towards southern Tasmania Tuesday night, reaching the Tasman Sea on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayFine apart from local early morning fogs in the south. A mostly sunny day. Hot to very hot inland with generally light winds but a little milder along the coastal fringe with afternoon seabreezes.Fire Danger -  Very High, but reaching Severe in the southwest and north central districts.Monday 3 FebruaryHot to very hot at first over central and eastern districts with moderate to fresh northerly winds, but a cooler, gusty southerly change extending eastwards during the day, but not reaching the far northeast until evening. Isolated showers and thunderstorms developing ahead of and near the change. Isolated showers possible in the south following the change, mainly near the coast in the afternoon and evening.Tuesday 4 FebruaryIsolated showers over Gippsland, scattered in the east during the morning then clearing during the afternoon. Dry elsewhere. Mild in the south, warm in the north. Fresh to strong south to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 5 FebruaryIsolated showers possible about the Gippsland coast during the early morning. Dry and sunny otherwise. A generally warm day, though hot over the northwest and milder over Gippsland.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Sunday.Product IDV10310
