Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 1/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is very slowly moving east maintaining a ridge toward northeastern New South Wales. As the ridge weakens, a low pressure trough will move through the state during Monday and Tuesday with another high behind it moving towards Tasmania. This high is expected to move over the southern Tasman Sea on Wednesday strengthening the ridge to the north coast.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayMostly sunny throughout. The chance of a thunderstorm in the far southwest, with little, if any, rain. Hot to very hot inland. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Sunday 2 FebruaryThe chance of showers about the north coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot to very hot inland. Southeast to northeasterly winds, freshening along the coast.Fire Danger -  Very high mainly over the ranges and western slopes, and the eastern Riverina.Monday 3 FebruaryThe chance of showers on the far north and and about the southern Alps in the afternoon. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot to very hot inland. East to northeasterly winds, freshening near the coast. A late gusty southerly change in the south.Tuesday 4 FebruaryIsolated coastal showers, tending scattered through central and southern parts. The chance of showers and thunderstorms on the western slopes of the southern and central ranges. Hot to very hot over the far northwest. Partly cloudy elsewhere. North to northeasterly winds ahead of a milder south to southeasterly change extending from the south.Wednesday 5 FebruaryIsolated coastal showers, tending scattered in the north and contracting away from the south.. The chance of thunderstorms, with little, if any, rain, over the far west of the state. Mostly sunny elsewhere.
