Upper U.S. Midwest Organic Grain and Feedstuffs

DES MOINES - Jun 15/11 - SNS -- Bi-weekly USDA report on organic grain and feedstuffs prices in the U.S. upper midwest.

Upper Midwest Organic Grain & Feedstuffs Report (Bi-Weekly)
Weighted Average Report for the Week Ending 06/11/11
For the following states: WI, MN, IA, SD, ND, NE, KS, MO
Compared to two weeks ago, organic feed grade corn was higher, with
good demand reported due reportedly to dwindling supplies. Organic
feed grade soybeans were steady to firm, with the lower end of the
range slightly higher this reporting period. Food grade soybean trade
trade was noted, but light volumes paired with lackluster demand were
were not indicative of the market as of publish time. Flooding and
cool temperatures continue to hamper conventional crop production in
the Upper Midwest and worry many organic farmers, as organic crops are
generally planted later in the season. Monthly and quarterly prices
are located below. All prices FOB the farm gate and negotiated spot
market.
