MELBOURNE - Oct 29/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Bight will extend a ridge over Victoria on Wednesday whilst a cold front passes south of Tasmania later in the day. The high will then move eastwards across southern Victoria during Thursday, reaching the Tasman Sea early Friday. A trough and associated cold front will cross the Bight on Friday, then move across Victorian on Saturday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayMostly clear apart from some isolated showers near the East Gippsland coast. Moderate to fresh south to southwesterly winds easing this evening.Wednesday 30 OctoberAreas of light morning frost in the northeast. Isolated showers in the south, mostly near the coast. Dry and mostly sunny over the north. Cool in the south, milder in the north. Moderate west to southwesterly winds, fresh along parts of the coast.Thursday 31 OctoberIsolated showers or drizzle in the south clearing during the afternoon. Dry and mostly sunny over the north. A mild day with light to moderate south to southwesterly winds.Friday 1 NovemberMild to warm and mostly sunny with light winds and afternoon seabreezes near the coast. Cloud increasing over western districts during the afternoon and evening with isolated showers possible near the central coast and South Gippsland at night.Saturday 2 NovemberIsolated showers developing from the west, mainly about the ranges. Generally warm with moderate west to northwesterly winds tending west to southwesterly during the day.
