MELBOURNE - Oct 28/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough is expected to move across the central and northeastern parts of New South Wales today. From Wednesday a high pressure system centred near the Bight will extend and maintain a ridge along the coast while a weak trough lingers over the northern inland. The high will be moving east and enter the Tasman on Friday followed by a cold front affecting the state during the coming weekend. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers in the eastern half tending scattered in the northeast. Isolated thunderstorms in the northeast, becoming scattered in the afternoon and evening, possibly severe. The chance of thunderstorms over the central parts. Mostly clear in the west. Southwesterly winds extending throughout, gusty near the coast. .Fire Danger - Severe in New England, Northern Slopes and Northwester.Wednesday 30 OctoberIsolated showers on the northern half of the coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Early frost patches about the southern ranges. Southwest to southeasterly winds.Thursday 31 OctoberIsolated showers on the north and central coasts. Early frost patches about the southern ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds.Friday 1 NovemberThe chance of showers in the northeast and near the central coast.
