MELBOURNE - Oct 28/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system over western New South Wales is moving east- northeast. The trough will weaken over the far northeast of the state on Wednesday as a high pressure system moves south of the Bight extending a ridge to the north coast. The next cold front is expected to cross the state during Saturday and Sunday as the high moves over the Tasman Sea and the ridge weakens. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers in the east and the chance of thunderstorms. Mostly clear in the west. Fresh east to northeasterly winds near the coast. North to northwesterly winds turning southwesterly in the west.Tuesday 29 OctoberIsolated showers in the eastern half tending scattered in the northeast. Isolated thunderstorms in the northeast, possibly severe. Mostly clear in the west. Southwesterly winds extending throughout, gusty near the coast. .Fire Danger - Severe in New England, Northern Slopes and Northwester.Wednesday 30 OctoberIsolated showers on the northern half of the coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Early frost patches about the southern ranges. Southwest to southeasterly winds.Thursday 31 OctoberIsolated showers on the north and central coasts. Early frost patches about the southern ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds.Friday 1 NovemberThe chance of showers in the northeast and near the central coast.
