MELBOURNE - Oct 26/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure ridge over Victoria is expected to drift southwards and weaken on Sunday. Meanwhile, a low pressure trough over South Australia will track eastwards across northern Victoria on Monday. A new high pressure system will develop over the Bight on Tuesday before approaching southwestern Victoria later on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers in the southeast, clearing by early afternoon. Patchy rain developing in the far west this morning and extending to most western areas late this afternoon and evening. Isolated thunderstorms in the far west at night. Early fog patches in the north and west. A cool to mild and mostly cloudy day. Light winds.Monday 28 OctoberPatchy rain turning to isolated showers from the west late in the day. Isolated thunderstorms mainly on and north of the ranges. Cool to mild and mostly cloudy with moderate east to northeast wind, turning southwest to southerly from the west and freshening.Tuesday 29 OctoberScattered showers in southern and mountain areas becoming isolated from the west during the morning. Fine over the northern plains. Cool with moderate to fresh south to southwesterly winds.Wednesday 30 OctoberIsolated showers in the south contracting to the coast. Fine over the north.
