Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 26/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure over the southeast of the State is weakening. A low over the eastern Bight will move eastwards across the State during today, reaching the eastern states on Monday. A new high will develop to the south of the Bight on Tuesday, then move slowly eastwards to be over the Tasman Sea later in the week.
Forecast for the rest of SundayAreas of cloud. Patchy light rain over the southern agricultural area tending to isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area and West Coast district, gradually contracting east during the day. Possible isolated showers over the south of the Pastoral districts. Possible thunderstorms over the West Coast district and Eyre Peninsula slowly extending east to reach Adelaide late afternoon and eastern districts in the evening. Mild to warm grading to hot in the north and west. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds, tending northerly in the west and becoming fresh at times over the Northwest Pastoral and western districts, ahead of a milder southerly change in the far west extending eastwards to reach Central districts by late evening.Monday 28 OctoberPatchy rain in the South East district clearing during the morning, with the chance of early isolated coastal thunderstorms. Isolated showers over southern coasts. Cool to mild in the south grading to hot in the far north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds extending throughout during the day and freshening.Tuesday 29 OctoberFine apart from possible isolated light showers about the coasts clearing in the afternoon. Mild to warm. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 30 OctoberFine apart from possible isolated showers about the Lower South East coast. Mild to warm. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday morning to midnight Wednesday are expected to be generally 1 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area and less than 1 mm over the remainder of the agricultural area and western coasts. Falls of 2 to 10 mm are possible over the South East district and with thunderstorms.Thursday until SaturdayFine. Becoming warmer with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Sunday.Product IDS10033
