MELBOURNE - Oct 26/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure over the southeast of the State is weakening. A low will develop near the western border late this evening then move eastwards across the State during Sunday, reaching the eastern states on Monday. A new high will develop to the south of the Bight on Tuesday, then move slowly eastwards to be over the Tasman Sea later in the week. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayPossible patchy light rain over the West Coast, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula and Kangaroo Island forecast districts then extending east to reach about Murray Bridge by midnight. The chance of a thunderstorm over Lower Eyre Peninsula. Mild with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Sunday 27 OctoberAreas of cloud. Patchy light rain over Kangaroo Island and the South East district, chiefly morning and evening. The chance of isolated thunderstorms near southern coasts. The chance of patchy light rain over the remainder of the agricultural area gradually clearing during the day. Mild to warm grading to hot in the north and west. Light to moderate northeast to northerly winds, fresh at times over the Northwest Pastoral and western districts, ahead of a milder southerly change in the far west extending eastwards to reach Central districts by late evening.Monday 28 OctoberPatchy rain in the South East district clearing during the morning, with the chance of early isolated coastal thunderstorms. Isolated showers over southern coasts. Cool to mild in the south grading to hot in the far north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds extending throughout during the day and freshening.Tuesday 29 OctoberFine apart from possible isolated light showers about the coasts clearing in the afternoon. Mild to warm. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 30 OctoberFine apart from possible isolated showers about the Lower South East coast. Mild to warm. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday afternoon to midnight Wednesday are expected to be generally 1 to 2 mm over the southern agricultural area and less than 1 mm over the remainder of the agricultural area and western coasts. Falls of 2 to 10 mm are possible over the South East district.Thursday until SaturdayFine.
