Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 26/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of the Bight extends a ridge to northeastern New South Wales, while a weak trough brings a southerly change to coastal parts today. On Sunday this trough will dissipate as the ridge dominates. Another trough, currently over WA and extending into SA, is expected to cross into western New South Wales during Monday while the ridge weakens and shifts to the Tasman Sea. This trough is expected to move further east on Tuesday, bringing unsettled conditions to some eastern districts before clearing to the east mid-week.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine apart from the chance of an evening shower or two about the far north coast, where an evening thunderstorm is possible along the coastal fringe. Southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh along the coast.Sunday 27 OctoberThe chance of coastal showers. Chance of light patchy rain in the far southwest from late afternoon. Fine and partly cloudy otherwise. Early frost patches about the southern slopes and ranges. Early fog patches about the ranges, slopes and inland areas of the northern coastal districts. Southwest to southeasterly winds, turning northeasterly along the northern coast in the afternoon.Monday 28 OctoberIsolated showers, tending scattered in the far southeast. Isolated thunderstorms possible in the east. Fine and partly cloudy in the northwest. Hot in the west. Northwest to northeasterly winds turning west to southwesterly in the west, freshening over the southwestern inland.Tuesday 29 OctoberIsolated showers in the east with possible thunderstorms in the northeast. North to northwesterly winds in the northeast, and southwest to southeasterly winds extending through the remainder freshening along the coast.Wednesday 30 OctoberIsolated showers in the far northeast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Sunday.Product IDN10031
