MELBOURNE - Oct 25/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure extending over the south of the State will move eastwards during today. A low will develop near the western border late this evening then move eastwards across the State during Sunday and Monday. A new high will move into the Bight on Tuesday, then move slowly eastwards to be over the Tasman Sea later in the week. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayPossible isolated light morning showers about the Lower South East coast. Possible patchy light rain developing over the West Coast, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula and Kangaroo Island forecast districts in the late afternoon and evening then extending east to about Murray Bridge by midnight. A mild to warm day. Moderate southwesterly winds in the far southeast, turning moderate southeast to northeasterly over the remainder. Some moderate afternoon sea breezes.Sunday 27 OctoberAreas of cloud and patchy rain extending across the southern agricultural area, possibly reaching to the northern agricultural area, clearing from the west to be confined to east of the ranges late evening. Mild to warm grading to hot in the north and west. Light winds turning northeast to northwesterly with moderate afternoon sea breezes ahead of a milder southerly change extending over districts west of Spencer Gulf during the day.Monday 28 OctoberPatchy rain clearing from the east early morning. Possible isolated light showers about coastal areas of the West Coast, Lower Eyre Peninsula and Kangaroo Island forecast districts. Cool to mild in the south grading to hot in the far north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds extending throughout during the day and freshening.Tuesday 29 OctoberFine apart from possible isolated light showers about the coasts contracting to the Lower South East during the afternoon. Mild to warm. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon to midnight Tuesday are expected to be generally 1 to 5 mm about southern agricultural area and less than 1 mm over the remainder of the agricultural area and western coasts. Falls of up to 10 mm are possible over the South East districts.Wednesday until FridayFine apart from possible isolated showers clearing from the Lower South East Coast early Wednesday morning.
