ST. JOSEPH - Oct 25/13 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Oct 25.
WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW Compared to last week, grain and soybean bids were higher with corn trading mixed. Soybeans were the leader this week on good buying interest and solid export demand. Corn saw spillover support from soybeans and good ethanol demand. However, favorable harvest weather outlook pressured the market. Harvest is progressing well but at a slower pace than the 5 year average. Crop progress report showed soybeans 63 percent complete with the 5 year average at 69 percent. Corn showed 39 percent complete compared to the 5 year average of 53 percent. These numbers are below the 5 year average. Weekly export sales for corn came in at 1.341 million tonnes. Weekly export sales for soybeans came in at a total of 947,800 tonnes. Meal sales were reported at 850,100 tonnes and oil sales at 27,500 tonnes. Export sales for wheat came in at 653,600 tonnes. Wheat was mostly 5-30 cents higher. Corn was 13 cents lower to 9 cents higher. Sorghum was 4 cents higher. Soybeans were 14-41 cents higher. WHEAT: Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 24 1/4 to 30 1/4 cents higher from 8.59 1/4-8.94 1/4 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Soft Red winter rail bid was not quoted. St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter terminal bid was 13 cents higher at 7.09 per bushel. Minneapolis and Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was 7 to 62 cents higher from 8.47-9.02 per bushel. Portland US Soft White wheat rail was 1/2 cent to 5 1/2 cents higher from 7.29 1/2-7.36 1/2 per bushel. CORN: Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 2 to 3 cents higher from 4.79- 4.85 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 2 3/4 cents lower to 2 1/4 cents higher at 4.35 1/4 per bushel. Omaha US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 9 to 13 cents lower from 4.30-4.35 per bushel. Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 9 3/4 cents lower to 9 1/4 cents higher from 4.25 1/4-4.43 1/4 per bushel. Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 2 3/4 cents lower from 4.13 1/4-4.15 1/4 per bushel. Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was 9 3/4 cents lower at 4.20 1/4 per bushel. OATS AND BARLEY: US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20 day was 12 1/2 cents higher from 3.44 1/4-3.79 1/4 per bushel. US No 3 or better rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was steady at 5.50 per bushel. Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not available. SORGHUM: US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was4 cents higher at 7.59 per cwt. Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the farmer, fob elevator) was 4 cents higher from 7.24-7.50 per cwt. OILSEEDS: Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 14 1/2 cents higher at 12.92 3/4 per bushel. Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 40 to 41 cents higher from 13.12 3/4-13.23 3/4 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Yellow truck soybeans were 26 1/2 cents higher at 12.99 3/4 per bushel. Central Illinois 48 percent Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 21.10 to 28.10 higher from 453.00-461.00 per ton.
