Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 24/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure centre over the Bight extends a ridge across South Australia and southern NSW. The high and ridge will move slowly southeastwards to be over Victoria on Sunday. Meanwhile a series of fronts will move from the Southern Ocean across Tasmania during today and Saturday. A trough of low pressure over South Australia on Sunday is likely to move across Victoria on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayEarly morning frosts, mainly in the north. Isolated showers near the coast extending inland over the south during the afternoon. Showers falling as snow above 1400 metres. A cool and partly cloudy day with light to moderate west to southwest winds, fresh along the coastal fringe and about elevated areas.Saturday 26 OctoberIsolated showers in the south, mainly near the coast. Dry over the north. Early morning frost patches in the north. Cool to mild and partly cloudy with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds.Sunday 27 OctoberIsolated coastal showers clearing during the morning. Isolated showers developing in the west during the afternoon. A cool to mild day with increasing cloud in the west. Mainly light southerly winds.Monday 28 OctoberIsolated showers extending from the northwest, mainly about the ranges. Mild to warm and mostly cloudy with light winds tending southeasterly and afternoon coastal seabreezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Friday.Product IDV10310
