Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 24/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Bight extends ridge of high pressure over the south of the State. A trough of low pressure will develop near the western border late on Saturday then move eastwards across the State during Sunday and Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers about the Lower South East with possible morning showers over remaining southern coasts. Morning frost about Eyre Peninsula, the Mid North, Flinders, Riverland, Murraylands and the south of the North East Pastoral districts. A mild to warm day. Moderate west to southwesterly winds in the south and moderate southeast to northeasterly winds over the remainder.Saturday 26 OctoberPossible isolated morning showers about the Lower South East coast. Possible patchy rain developing over southern Eyre and Yorke Peninsulas and western Kangaroo Island in the late evening. Patchy morning frost about the Flinders, Mid North and Murraylands districts. A mild to warm day. Moderate southwesterly winds in the far south and moderate southeast to northeasterly winds over the remainder. Moderate afternoon sea breezes.Sunday 27 OctoberAreas of cloud and patchy rain extending across the southern agricultural area then clearing from the west to be confined to east of the ranges late evening. Mild to warm grading to hot in the north and west with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds and moderate afternoon sea breezes. Winds turning northwesterly in the west mid morning ahead of a milder southerly change reaching the Northeast Pastoral district late evening.Monday 28 OctoberPatchy rain clearing from the east early morning. Possible isolated showers over western coasts and western Kangaroo Island. Light to moderate northerly winds in the northeast at first with light to moderate south to southwesterly winds extending throughout during the day and freshening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday to midnight Monday are expected to be generally 1 to 5 mm about southern agricultural area and less than 1 mm is expected over the remainder of the agricultural area and western coasts.Tuesday until ThursdayPossible isolated showers about the coasts contracting to the far south by Tuesday evening and clearing Wednesday morning. Fine otherwise. Mild to warm grading to hot in the northeast at first the becoming hot in the west later in the period. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds turning northeasterly later in the period.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
