MELBOURNE - Oct 24/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough on the far north coast is moving slowly northeast. A cold front on the central coast with strong southwest to southerly winds associated will extend to the north coast tonight with a strong southerly change extending along the coast. Winds will ease Friday morning as a high pressure system south of the Bight extends a ridge across NSW. A weak trough will affect the coast on Saturday with fresh southwest to southerly winds, otherwise the ridge will persist over NSW for the weekend with fine and mild to warm conditions expected with mostly moderate winds. A more significant trough is expected to cross NSW early in the new week. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms in the far northeast. Isolated showers in the far southeast, clearing. Mostly clear elsewhere. South to southwest winds extending throughout, strong along parts of the coast.Friday 25 OctoberIsolated showers on the far north coast clearing early morning. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frost areas about the southern and central ranges and adjacent western slopes. Mild, moderate southwest winds, tending southeast to northeasterly along the coast.Fire Danger - Very high: Greater Sydney, Greater Hunter, North Western.Saturday 26 OctoberMostly sunny. Early frost patches about the southern and central ranges.
