MELBOURNE - Oct 23/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front over Tasmania will move eastwards reaching the Tasman Sea today. A ridge of high pressure will extend over the south of the State during today and Friday. A trough of low pressure will develop near the western border late on Saturday then move eastwards across the State during Sunday and Monday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers in the Lower South East. Possible isolated light morning showers about far western coasts, Kangaroo Island and southern Fleurieu Peninsula. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Mainly moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending easterly in the west.Friday 25 OctoberIsolated showers about the Lower South East. Morning frost about Eyre Peninsula, the Mid North, Flinders, Riverland, Murraylands, Upper South East and the south of the North East Pastoral districts. A mild to warm day. Moderate west to southwesterly winds in the south and moderate southeast to northeasterly winds over the remainder.Saturday 26 OctoberIsolated morning showers about the Lower South East coast. Patchy morning frost about the Flinders, Mid North and Murraylands districts. A mild to warm day. Moderate southwesterly winds in the far south and moderate southeast to northeasterly winds over the remainder. Moderate afternoon sea breezes.Sunday 27 OctoberAreas of cloud and possible isolated showers extending across western and southern coastal districts. Mild to warm with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds. Moderate afternoon sea breezes. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday to midnight Sunday are expected to be generally 1 to 2 mm over the southern agricultural area, increasing to 2 to 5 mm about southern coasts. Less than 1 mm is expected over the remainder.Monday until WednesdayCloudy with possible isolated showers over the West Coast and agricultural area, more likely about the coasts. Isolated showers contracting to western and southern coasts on Tuesday and Wednesday. Light to moderate northerly winds and warm to hot conditions ahead of a milder southwesterly change extending from the west during Monday.
