MELBOURNE - Oct 22/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system centred near eastern Bass Strait is expected to move southeastwards across the Tasman Sea today. A cold front will move across the southeast of the State early this evening, then a ridge of high pressure will extend over the south of the State on Thursday and Friday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area and west coast, with possible showers over the northern agricultural area, contracting to the coasts and Lower South East in the evening. Possible small hail and thunder in the far southeast this evening. Cool in the south grading to warm in the far north with moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds, strong about southern coasts.Thursday 24 OctoberIsolated showers in the Lower South East. Possible isolated morning showers about far western coasts, Kangaroo Island and southern Fleurieu Peninsula. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Mainly moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending east to northeasterly in the west.Friday 25 OctoberIsolated showers about the Lower South East. Mild to warm. Moderate west to southwesterly winds in the south and moderate southeast to northeasterly winds over the remainder.Saturday 26 OctoberIsolated morning showers about the Lower South East coast. Possible isolated showers developing near the western border. Mild to warm. Moderate southwesterly winds in the far south and moderate southeast to northeasterly winds over the remainder. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday to midnight Saturday are expected to be generally up to 2 mm, increasing to 2 to 5 mm in the southeast with possible falls of 5 to 10 mm about the Lower South East coast.Sunday until TuesdayPossible isolated showers extending across western parts on Monday then becoming confined to coastal districts by Tuesday.
