Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 22/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A complex low pressure trough with a few small lows embedded in it is stretching from northwestern to southeastern New South Wales. This trough is slowly moving to the northeast and it will gradually weaken during Wednesday as a high pressure system south of the Bight moves east extending a ridge to the northeast and bringing milder south to southwesterly winds across the state .
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms over much of the state, with little rainfall expected other than on the southwest slopes and southern ranges. Partly cloudy the northeast. Northwest to northeast winds, gusty in the south turning southwesterly in the west. Fire Danger Ratings Very High: Mid North Coast, Hunter, Central Tablelands, North & Central West Slopes & Plains, Riverina & Upper Western.Wednesday 23 OctoberIsolated showers and afternoon thunderstorms in the northeast. Isolated showers in the southeastern inland contracting to the Alps. Gusty west to northwesterly winds,, ahead of a milder south to southwest change in the west and southeast.Fire Danger -  Extreme in Greater Sydney and Hunter. Severe on the North Coast.Thursday 24 OctoberIsolated showers over the far northeast with the chance of thunderstorms near the coast. Isolated showers over the Alpine area. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Cooler southeast to southwest winds extending throughout.Friday 25 OctoberIsolated showers clearing showers on the far north coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Mild southwest winds, tending northeast to southeast along the coast.Saturday 26 OctoberMostly sunny.
