Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 20/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure extends across South Australia, and is expected to become slow moving over the northeast of the State early this week before moving eastwards and reaching the Tasman Sea on Wednesday. A high will develop southwest of Western Australia on Tuesday and extend a ridge over South Australia during the week.
Forecast for the rest of SundayCloud increasing from the west with isolated showers and possible thunder extending to areas south and west of about Renmark to Ernabella. Hot, grading to very hot in the far north with moderate to fresh northerly winds, ahead of a milder southwest to southerly change in the west and south extending northeastwards to reach most districts except the North East Pastoral by late evening.Monday 21 OctoberMostly cloudy with isolated showers and possible thunder south and west of about Coober Pedy to Renmark, increasing to scattered showers southwest of about Streaky Bay to Naracoorte. Cool to mild about southern coasts grading to hot to very hot in the North East Pastoral. Moderate to fresh northerly winds in the northeast with areas of raised dust, otherwise mainly moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 22 OctoberIsolated showers and possible thunder. Showers increasing to scattered over the southern agricultural area. Cool to mild in the west and south, grading to hot to very hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds extending throughout.Wednesday 23 OctoberIsolated showers over the agricultural area, possibly extending to the West Coast, northern Flinders and southern Pastorals, contracting to the coasts by late afternoon. Cool in the south grading to warm in the far north with moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Thursday 24 OctoberPossible isolated showers in the Lower South East and about the coasts, contracting to the Lower South East during the morning. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Mainly moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending east to northeasterly in the west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday afternoon to midnight Thursday are expected to be quite variable and range from 2 to 10 mm over the northern agricultural area and West Coast district, increasing to 10 to 20 mm over the southern agricultural area. Less than 2 mm is expected further north.Friday until SundayPossible isolated showers about the Lower South East coast during Friday morning. Possible isolated showers in the far west on Friday and Saturday extending to southern coastal districts on Sunday. Generally cool to mild in the south grading to hot in the far north.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Monday.Product IDS10033
