Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 19/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure in the west will continue across South Australia today, and then become slow moving over the northeast of the State early this week. A high will develop southwest of WA on Tuesday and extend a ridge over SA through to mid week.
Forecast for the rest of SundayCloud increasing from the west with isolated showers and possible thunder extending to areas south and west of about Lameroo to Wudinna to Ernabella. Hot, grading to very hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, ahead of a milder southwest to southerly change in the west extending eastwards to reach most districts except the Northeast Pastoral by late evening.Monday 21 OctoberCloudy with isolated showers and possible thunder south and west of about Coober Pedy to Renmark, increasing to scattered south of about Ceduna to Naracoorte. Cool to mild in the south and near western coasts grading to hot to very hot in the Northeast Pastoral. Mainly moderate south to southeasterly winds, tending northerly in the northeast.Tuesday 22 OctoberIsolated showers and possible thunder. Showers increasing to scattered over the southern agricultural area. Cool to mild in the west and south, grading to hot to very hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds extending throughout.Wednesday 23 OctoberIsolated showers over the agricultural area, contracting to the coasts by late afternoon. Cool in the south grading to warm in the far north with moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday morning to midnight Wednesday are expected to be quite variable and range from 2 to 10 mm over the northern agricultural area and West Coast district, increasing to 10 to 20 mm over the southern agricultural area. Less than 2 mm is expected further north.Thursday until SaturdayPossible isolated showers in the Lower South East and about the coasts, contracting to the Lower South East during Thursday morning, then clearing during Friday morning. Possible isolated showers developing in the far west on Friday, extending eastwards over western districts on Saturday. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Mainly moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending east to northeasterly in the west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Sunday.Product IDS10033
