MELBOURNE - Oct 19/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will direct a northwest to northerly airstream across Victoria during the weekend. A low pressure trough over the Bight will reach southwest Victoria Sunday afternoon, before drifting eastwards across the State on Sunday night and Monday. A low pressure system will develop over South Australia on Monday and will drift southeastwards across Victoria on Tuesday. A cold front will move over southwestern Victoria later Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine. Generally clear with light to moderate northerly winds and seabreezes at first along the Gippsland coast.Sunday 20 OctoberFine apart from isolated showers developing over the southwest during the day and possibly reaching the central district. A warm to hot and partly cloudy day with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds turning cooler south to southwesterly along the west coast in the afternoon and extending northeastwards during the evening.Monday 21 OctoberPatchy rain developing from the southwest. Warm in the north, cooler in the south. Light to moderate southeast to southwesterly winds tending north to northwesterly in the northeast at first.Tuesday 22 OctoberRain areas and isolated thunderstorms. Mild to warm and cloudy with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 23 OctoberShowers becoming isolated from the west and contracting to southern and mountain areas. Isolated thunderstorms in the east during the morning.
