Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 19/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak trough offshore of the far north coast weakens this evening, dissipating into tomorrow morning. Otherwise a strong and slow moving high pressure system over the Tasman Sea maintains a ridge over New South Wales over the weekend. The ridge moves slowly northwards as a low pressure system enters the far southern parts of the state later on Monday. An afternoon south to southwesterly wind change is expected on Monday along the South Coast associated with the trough.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayChance of isolated showers along the coastal fringe north of about Seal Rocks, expected mainly over the north coast. Fine elsewhere. North to northeasterly winds tending easterly in the far northeast.Sunday 20 OctoberIsolated showers over the far northeast of the state, mainly about the coastal fringe. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Morning fog patches about the far northeast. Hot in the northwest. Very high Fire Danger Ratings over the Greater Sydney, Hunter and Illawarra fire forecasting districts. North to northeast winds.Monday 21 OctoberThe chance of showers in the south. Partly cloudy in the north. Hot over the central parts of the state including the inland areas of the central coastal districts. Northeast to northwest winds. Winds in the far south of the state tend south to southwesterly with an afternoon wind change.Tuesday 22 OctoberThe chance of isolated showers in the west and southeast, mainly about the far south. Chance of isolated thunderstorms in the far south and southeast. Partly cloudy in the far northeast. Warm to hot temperatures across the state. Windy over the southwestern inland. Northwest to southwest winds.Wednesday 23 OctoberChance of isolated showers across the state, mainly over the southern slopes. Windy about the south and southeast of the state.
