MELBOURNE - Oct 18/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will direct a northwest to northerly airstream across Victoria today. A low pressure trough over the Bight will reach southwest Victoria late Sunday, before drifting eastwards across the State on Monday. A low pressure system will then develop over the Bight and will drift eastwards across Victoria on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine. A warm to hot and mostly sunny day with moderate to fresh northerly winds, lighter over the east with afternoon seabreezes developing along the Gippsland coast.Sunday 20 OctoberFine apart from possible showers over the southwest during the afternoon and evening. A warm to hot day with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds turning cooler south to southwesterly along the west coast late afternoon or evening.Monday 21 OctoberPatchy rain developing in the west. Warm in the north, milder in the south. Chiefly moderate south to southwesterly winds tending east to northeasterly in the west.Tuesday 22 OctoberPatchy rain with the chance of thunderstorms extending eastwards during the day.
