Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 18/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure will move across South Australia during the weekend. A low will form south of the Bight tonight before moving southeastwards on Monday ahead of a new high, which is expected to move south of the State next week.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayPossible thunder developing west of a line from about Ernabella to Port Lincoln with possible showers developing over the West Coast district and extending to Kangaroo Island late in the day. Warm to hot with fresh northerly winds, strengthening in the far west and producing areas of raised dust. A milder southerly change expected to move over areas west of about Fowlers Bay during the day.Sunday 20 OctoberCloudy with isolated showers and possible thunder extending from the west to areas south and west of about Coober Pedy to Renmark. Generally mild to warm in the south. Hot in the northeast with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a milder southerly change reaching the far northeast by late evening.Monday 21 OctoberCloudy with isolated showers and possible thunder south and west of about Coober Pedy to Renmark. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm to hot across the north. Mainly moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresher about the coasts.Tuesday 22 OctoberIsolated showers and thunder, and a warm to hot north to northwesterly wind over central and eastern parts of the State contracting to the northeast during the afternoon and evening. Isolated showers persisting about the southern agricultural area as a cooler southerly wind extends inland during the day. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday to midnight Tuesday are expected to be quite variable and range from 5 to 15 mm over much of the agricultural area and West Coast district, to less than 5 mm over the remainder.Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers and thunder clearing from the northeast during Wednesday morning. Isolated showers about the southern agricultural area contracting to the southeast and clearing early in the period. Fine late next week apart from the chance of showers and thunder re-developing about the far western border late Friday. Generally mild with southerly winds easing and starting to turn northerly late in the week.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Saturday.Product IDS10033
