USDA National Grain Review

ST. JOSEPH - Oct 18/13 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Oct 18.

WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW
Grain and soybean bids have no comparison due to the government shutdown.
However, trade was mixed this week on a variety of factors. Soybeans were the
leader most of the week on possible freeze and good China demand, along with a
lower dollar which supported all grains. Nevertheless, better than expected
yields pressured the row crops. Harvest continues to go strong in some areas of
the corn-belt with higher than expected yields. Yet there are still parts of
the Midwest that lag behind as a result of late spring planting. The NOPA,
crush report for the month of September showed 108.7 million bu of soybeans were
crushed, which was 2 million more than trade estimates and down 119 million bu
from a year ago. The USDA cancelled the October production and supply/demand
reports. The next report is scheduled for November 8th.
