Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 18/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over New South Wales will reach the Tasman Sea tonight. A northwest to northerly airstream will develop over Victoria on Saturday whilst a low pressure trough forms over the Bight. This trough will then move eastwards to reach western Victoria on Sunday morning, before drifting to the east of the State on Monday. A low pressure system will then develop over the Bight and drift eastwards across Victoria on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayFine. Mainly moderate northwesterly winds and sea breezes along the Gippsland coast.Saturday 19 OctoberFine. A warm to hot and mostly sunny day with moderate northerly winds, locally fresh in the south. Lighter winds over the east with afternoon seabreezes developing along the Gippsland coast.Sunday 20 OctoberFine apart from possible showers over the southwest during the afternoon and evening. A warm to hot day with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds turning cooler south to southwesterly in the west.Monday 21 OctoberPatchy rain developing in the west. Warm in the north, milder in the south. Chiefly moderate south to southwesterly winds tending east to northeasterly in the west.Tuesday 22 OctoberPatchy rain with the chance of thunderstorms extending eastwards during the day. Mild to warm and cloudy with moderate east to northeasterly winds shifting westerly from the west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Saturday.Product IDV10310
