MELBOURNE - Oct 17/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system will rapidly move across southern New South Wales on Friday morning to reach the Tasman Sea on Friday afternoon. A warmer northwest to northerly airstream will develop over Victoria on Saturday but a low pressure trough will form over the Bight. This trough will then move eastwards to reach western Victoria on Sunday morning before drifting to the east of the State on Monday. Forecast for the rest of FridayFine. Morning frost patches, mainly in the north. A cool to mild and mostly sunny day with moderate to locally fresh northwesterly winds developing. Weak afternoon sea breezes on the Gippsland coast.Saturday 19 OctoberFine. A mild to warm and mostly sunny with moderate northerly winds, locally fresh in the south. Lighter winds over the east with afternoon seabreezes developing along the Gippsland coast.Sunday 20 OctoberIsolated showers in the west extending to central areas later. A mild to warm day with a moderate to fresh northwesterly wind gradually turning cooler south to southwesterly in the west.Monday 21 OctoberIsolated showers. Warm in the north and east but milder elsewhere.
