Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 17/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Bight will move eastwards to be over the Tasman Sea by Friday night. A trough of low pressure will develop in the far west and move across South Australia during the weekend. A second high will move south of the State early next week.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine apart from isolated showers clearing from the South East districts by early evening. Cool to cold overnight with southwest to southeast winds easing.Friday 18 OctoberFine. Possible early morning frost over parts of the central and eastern districts then a mild to warm day, grading to hot in the west. Light to moderate northeast to northerly winds, freshening in the west.Saturday 19 OctoberPossible showers and thunder developing west of a line from about Ernabella to Port Lincoln with possible showers extending to Kangaroo Island late in the day. Warm to hot with fresh northerly winds strengthening in the far west and areas of raised dust ahead of a milder southerly change expected to move across western coasts during the day.Sunday 20 OctoberCloudy with isolated showers and possible thunder extending from the west to areas south and west of about Coober Pedy to Renmark. Generally mild to warm in the south. Hot in the northeast with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a milder southerly change reaching the far northeast by late evening.Monday 21 OctoberCloudy with isolated showers south and west of about Coober Pedy to Renmark. Possible afternoon and evening thunder over the North West Pastoral district. Cool to mild in the south grading to mild to warm across the north. Mainly moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresher about the coasts. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday evening to midnight Monday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over much of the agricultural area and West Coast district, decreasing to less than 5 mm over the remainder west of about Coober Pedy to Renmark.Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers clearing from the northeast of South Australia, but persisting about agricultural areas during Tuesday. Showers contracting south and clearing on Wednesday before re-developing in the west later in the week. Generally mild to warm with southeasterly winds turning northerly later in the week.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
