MELBOURNE - Oct 17/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front preceded by gusty northerly winds is moving through northeastern New South Wales and it will weaken into a trough over the far northeast overnight. This trough will weaken on Friday as a high pressure ridge briefly develops throughout. On Monday another low pressure trough will deepen over the west of the state and it is expected to move slowly to the east over the next few days. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the northeast and in the far southern inland. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Gusty north to northwesterly winds ahead of a cooler west to southwesterly change extending through to the northeast.Friday 18 OctoberIsolated showers and thunderstorms on the north coast and ranges. Mostly sunny remainder. Early frosts on southern and central slopes and ranges. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Saturday 19 OctoberEarly clearing showers on the far north coast. Mostly sunny remainder.Early frost patches on the southern and central slopes and ranges. North to northeasterly winds tending easterly in the far northeast.Sunday 20 OctoberMostly sunny. Hot in the northwest. Northerly winds.Monday 21 OctoberIsolated showers developing in the southern half. Partly cloudy in the north.
