Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 16/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge over northeastern New South Wales is weakening as a cold front approaches from the west. This front preceded by hot and gusty northerly winds and will move through the western and southeastern parts of state today before weakening to a trough over the northeast overnight Thurday. The trough will weaken on Friday as another high pressure ridge develops briefly behind the front. The next cold front is expected to cross the the state on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the northeast and in the far southern inland. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Hot and gusty north to northwesterly winds ahead of a cooler west to southwesterly change extending through to the northeastern half during the day.Fire Danger -  Very High in the east. Severe central ranges and coast.Friday 18 OctoberIsolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms in the far northeast. Mostly sunny remainder. Early frosts on southern and central slopes and ranges. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Saturday 19 OctoberClearing showers on the far north coast. Mostly sunny remainder.Early frost patches on the southern and central slopes and ranges. North to northeasterly winds tending easterly in the far northeast.Sunday 20 OctoberMostly sunny. Hot northwesterly winds ahead of a milder southerly change in the southwest in the afternoon and evening,The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Thursday.Product IDN10031
