Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 15/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A vigorous cold front will reach the Head of Bight late morning, a line Cowell to Adelaide to Goolwa late afternoon and move over remaining coastal waters by mid evening. A high will move over the Bight on Thursday and across NSW on Friday. A trough of low pressure will develop in the far west on Saturday then move east during the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers developing about southern coasts during the afternoon, extending over the remainder of the southern agricultural area by late evening and becoming scattered over southern coasts late evening. Warm to hot with moderate to fresh north to northwest winds, strengthening during the morning ahead of a cooler fresh to strong southwest change extending across western and south central coasts by late afternoon and a line Ernabella to Yunta late evening.Thursday 17 OctoberIsolated showers over the west coast, agricultural area and south of the Flinders, tending scattered over the southern agricultural area in the morning with possible small hail. Possible morning thunder about the Lower South East coast. Showers becoming isolated and contracting to the Lower South East in the evening. Cold in the south, grading to mild to warm in the north. Fresh south to southwest winds extending throughout, easing to light to moderate southwest to southeast during the late afternoon and evening.Friday 18 OctoberFine. Morning frost over parts of the central and eastern districts. Mild to warm, grading to hot in the west. Light to moderate northeasterly winds, freshening in the west.Saturday 19 OctoberIsolated showers and possible thunder developing over the far west then extending east to reach a line from Coober Pedy to Kingscote by evening. Warm to hot with fresh northerly winds ahead of a milder southerly change expected to move across western coasts during the day. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday morning to midnight Saturday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area and far west coast, reaching 5 to 10 mm about southern coasts. Less than 2 mm elsewhere.Sunday until TuesdayCloudy with isolated showers and possible thunder extending from the west during Sunday to reach most parts of the State except the far northeast on Monday and Tuesday. Isolated showers increasing to areas of rain over western and south coastal districts on Monday and Tuesday. Warm to hot with freshening northerly winds ahead of a milder southerly change gradually extending over southern parts of the State.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Wednesday.Product IDS10033
