MELBOURNE - Oct 14/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over the Bight will move eastwards to reach the east coast later on Tuesday. A cold front will move over the west and south of the State on Wednesday and the remainder on Thursday morning. A new high pressure will develop over the State later on Thursday then move east on Friday. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated light showers over the southern agricultural area, contracting to southern coasts by evening. Cool to cold in the south, grading to mild in the far north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, becoming light and variable this evening.Tuesday 15 OctoberCold inland early with frost patches. Fine apart from the chance of isolated light showers in the Lower South East until late afternoon. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the far north and west. Mainly light northeast to northwesterly winds.Wednesday 16 OctoberIsolated showers developing near southern coasts during the afternoon, extending over the remainder of the southern agricultural area and western coasts by late evening and becoming scattered over the far southeast. Warm in the south and hot in the north with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds ahead of a cooler fresh to locally strong southwesterly change moving across the Nullarbor during the morning, the central districts later in the day and reaching the North East Pastoral district late evening.Thursday 17 OctoberIsolated showers over most of the agricultural area, tending scattered over southern Mount Lofty Ranges, Kangaroo Island and the South East district in the morning, then contracting to southern coasts in the evening. Possible thunderstorms and small hail over the Lower South East. Cool to mild in the south grading to hot in the far north. Fresh south to southwest winds extending throughout, then easing to light to moderate southwest to southeast during the afternoon.Friday 18 OctoberFine. Morning frost over parts of the central and eastern districts. Mild to warm in the south, warm to hot inland. Light to moderate northeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday to midnight Friday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area, increasing to 5 to 15 mm in the Lower South East. Less than 1 mm is expected over the northern agricultural area and remaining western coasts.Saturday until MondayIsolated showers and possible thunder developing over the far west on Saturday then extending east to reach a line from Coober Pedy to Keith on Sunday. Cloudy with isolated showers over western and southern parts of the State on Monday.
