MELBOURNE - Oct 13/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A vigorous, cold south to southwest airstream will moderate overnight ahead of a high moving over the Bight on Monday and New South Wales on Tuesday. A cold front will move over the west and south of the State on Wednesday and the remainder on Thursday morning. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers south of about Woomera, contracting to southern coasts in the evening. Cool to cold in the south and about the ranges, grading to mild in the far north. Fresh to strong south to southwesterly winds, easing during the evening.Monday 14 OctoberIsolated morning showers about the Lower Eyre Peninsula, Spencer Gulf, Yorke Peninsula, and Mid North coasts. Isolated showers about remaining southern coasts and in the South East and Murraylands districts, contracting to the coast in the evening. Cool to cold in the south, grading to mild in the far north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh in the south.Tuesday 15 OctoberFine apart from the chance of isolated light showers in the Lower South East until late afternoon. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the far north and west. Mainly light northeast to northwesterly winds.Wednesday 16 OctoberIsolated showers developing near southern coasts during the afternoon, extending over the remainder of the southern agricultural area and West Coast district by late evening and becoming scattered over the far southeast. Mild to warm in the south and hot in the north with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds ahead of a cooler fresh to locally strong southwesterly change moving across the Nullarbor during the morning, the central districts later in the day and reaching the North East Pastoral district late evening.Thursday 17 OctoberIsolated showers over most of the agricultural area, tending scattered over Kangaroo Island and the South East district in the morning, then contracting to southern coasts in the evening. Cool to mild in the south grading to hot in the far north. Fresh south to southwest winds extending throughout, then easing to light to moderate southwest to southeast during the afternoon. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday evening to midnight Thursday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm south of about Adelaide, reaching 5 to 15 mm about the Lower South East coast.
