Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 12/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough over eastern Victoria will clear the State during the morning. A cold front will then move across the State during the afternoon. A high pressure system will move across the Bight on Monday then track rapidly eastwards over New South Wales on Tuesday. A strong cold front will then sweep across Bight waters to reach western Victoria late on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayScattered showers in the southwest extending to remaining southern and mountain areas by the early afternoon and falling as snow above 1000 metres during the late afternoon and evening. Isolated showers developing over the northern plains. Isolated thunderstorms possible, mainly in southern and mountain areas. Mild with moderate west to southwesterly wind extending throughout, then shifting cold and stronger southwest to southerly from the west during the afternoon.Monday 14 OctoberIsolated showers over southern and mountain districts, tending scattered near the coast. Snow showers above 1000 metres rising to 1400 metres during the day. Local morning frosts in the north. A cool and partly cloudy day with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds, strong at times near the coast.Tuesday 15 OctoberIsolated showers in the southwest and about the coastal fringe clearing during the afternoon. Morning frost patches in the northeast. A cool to mild and partly cloudy day with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds.Wednesday 16 OctoberDry for most of the day with cloud increasing and fresh to locally strong northerly winds. A colder gusty west to southwesterly change reaching the southwest late in the day and extending to central areas at night. Scattered showers to follow the change.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Sunday.Product IDV10310
