Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 12/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front extending across the peninsulas will move east to northeastwards reaching the North East Pastoral district by midnight, then Queensland and New South Wales during Sunday. A more vigorous front will move over southern coasts Sunday morning. A high pressure system will move over the Bight on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayPossible isolated showers developing this evening about southern and western coasts. A cool to mild evening, warm in the northeast. Moderate northwesterly winds, freshening in the south, ahead of a cooler fresh to strong southwesterly change over the peninsulas, reaching the North East Pastoral district by midnight. Areas of raised dust over the Northwest Pastoral district with the change.Sunday 13 OctoberThe chance of isolated showers and thunder in the far northeast during the morning. Scattered showers with possible small hail and thunder developing early morning over the agricultural area, with isolated showers extending over the remainder south of about Woomera, becoming isolated during the afternoon and contracting to southern coasts in the evening. Cool to cold in the south and about the ranges, grading to mild in the far north. Fresh to strong south to southwesterly winds, easing during the evening.Monday 14 OctoberThe chance of isolated early morning showers about the Lower Eyre Peninsula, Spencer Gulf, Yorke Peninsula, and Mid North coasts. Isolated showers near remaining southern coasts and in the South East district, contracting to the coast in the evening. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds. Cool to cold in the south, grading to mild in the far north.Tuesday 15 OctoberFine apart from the chance of isolated light showers in the Lower South East until late afternoon. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the far north and west. Mainly light northeast to northwesterly winds.Wednesday 16 OctoberIsolated showers developing near southern coasts during the day, extending over the remainder of the agricultural area and West Coast district by late evening. Showers increasing to scattered over the far southeast. Mild to warm in the south and hot in the north with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds ahead of a cooler fresh to locally strong southwesterly change moving across the Nullarbor during the morning, the central districts later in the day and reaching the North East Pastoral district later in the evening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday afternoon to midnight Wednesday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area, increasing to 5 to 10 mm about windward coasts and ranges. Less than 2 mm is expected over the northern agricultural area, with less than 1 mm further north.Thursday until SaturdayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area contracting southeast during Thursday and clearing by Friday. Cool to mild in the south grading to hot in the far north on Thursday, becoming hotter on Friday and Saturday. Fresh southwesterly winds, easing later Thursday then turning northerly on Friday and Saturday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Sunday.Product IDS10033
