Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 12/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge over New South Wales is weakening. A strong cold front preceded by hot and gusty northwesterly winds will move through the western and southeastern parts of the state today and through the northeastern parts early on Monday. Behind the front another high pressure ridge will develop over southeastern Australia. The next cold front front is expected to cross the state during Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers developing across much of the state and tending scattered over the central inland and about the southwest slopes. Late snow showers on the Alps above 1500 metres. The chance of thunderstorms. Hot and gusty northwesterly winds ahead of a milder southwesterly change reaching the northeast at night.Fire Danger -  Extreme in the Sydney Metropolitan and Hunter. Very High to Severe in other eastern districts.Monday 14 OctoberIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the northeast, clearing during the day. Mostly sunny remainder. Southwest to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 15 OctoberThe chance of showers on the north coast. Mostly sunny remainder. Light winds tending east to northeasterly near the coast.Wednesday 16 OctoberMostly sunny. Light to moderate south to southwesterly winds, tending northeasterly on the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Sunday.Product IDN10031
