MELBOURNE - Oct 11/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over New South Wales will move to the Tasman Sea on Saturday. A low pressure trough will move eastwards across Victoria later Saturday and early Sunday, with a cold front to follow during Sunday. Another cold front will move through Bass Strait on Monday, then a high pressure system will move across New South Wales Monday night and Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of FridayPartly cloudy in the south, generally clear in the north. Moderate westerly winds easing tonight.Saturday 12 OctoberA fine, mild to warm and sunny day. Cloud increasing over the southwest later with isolated showers possible at night. Fresh north to northwesterly winds shifting cooler west to southwesterly in the west later in the day.Sunday 13 OctoberScattered showers in the southwest extending to remaining southern and mountain areas. Isolated showers over the northern plains. Isolated thunderstorms developing from the west, then clearing eastwards during the afternoon. Snow showers developing above 1000 metres during the afternoon and evening and local hail possible in the south. Partly cloudy with cooler, fresh to strong and gusty southwesterly winds extending throughout.Monday 14 OctoberIsolated showers over southern and mountain districts, tending scattered near the coast. Showers falling as snow above 1000 metres, contracting above 1500 metres during the day. Local morning frosts in the north then a cool and partly cloudy day with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds, strong at times near the coast.Tuesday 15 OctoberIsolated showers in the south clearing during the afternoon and evening. Morning fog and frost patches inland.
