Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 10/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A slow moving high pressure system is centred over the southern Coral Sea. A strong cold front preceded by squally, hot northwesterly winds will cross New South Wales today followed by a weak high pressure ridge developing briefly behind the front on Friday. Another, weaker cold front is expected to move through the state during Saturday and Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers developing in the far south. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Areas of raised dust inland. Hot to very hot, north to northwesterly winds becoming squally ahead of a mild, late southwesterly change in the southwest.Fire Danger -  Widespread severe to extreme on and east of the ranges including northwestern slopes.Friday 11 OctoberThe chance of coastal showers and the chance of showers on the Alps. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Milder southwest to southeasterly winds.Saturday 12 OctoberMostly sunny. Northwest to northeast winds turning southerly in the far southwest in the evening.Sunday 13 OctoberIsolated showers across much of the state, more likely over the central inland. Northwesterly winds ahead of a southwesterly change in the southwest.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Thursday.Product IDN10031
