Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 9/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
Fresh to strong northerly winds ahead of a cold front near Ceduna to Port Lincoln moving east and expected to reach Adelaide near sunset, Port Augusta to Renmark at midnight then the far northeast of the State by later Thursday. A high pressure system will form over the Bight during Thursday before moving over the eastern states on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayDry, with areas of raised dust over western districts, the Flinders, Mid North and Yorke Peninsula until early evening. Fresh to strong northerly winds ahead of a cooler moderate to fresh southwesterly change extending across the south and west of the State during the evening.Thursday 10 OctoberIsolated showers developing over the agricultural areas with possible showers extending across the west coast and the southern pastorals then contracting to far southern coasts by evening. Showers becoming scattered over central and eastern districts from during the morning until mid afternoon. Moderate to fresh southwest winds extending throughout during the evening. Fresh to strong northerly winds in the northeast at first with possible raised dust. Cool to mild grading to hot in the northeast.Friday 11 OctoberPossible isolated light showers about the Lower South East, fine elsewhere. Light to moderate westerly winds in the south, fresh to strong about the coast in the morning, tending southeast to northeast in the north.Saturday 12 OctoberPossible isolated showers developing about the Lower South East, fine otherwise. Cool to mild about the coast, warm to hot inland. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds tending northwesterly in the south, freshening ahead of a moderate to fresh southerly change reaching Renmark to Coober Pedy late evening.Sunday 13 OctoberIsolated showers south of about Adelaide with possible showers over the remainder of the southern agricultural area and Mid North then contracting to southern coasts in the evening. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Moderate southerly winds extending throughout. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon to midnight Sunday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the agricultural area and less than 2 mm elsewhere. Isolated falls of 5 to 10 mm are possible about the ranges and Lower South East district.Monday until WednesdayPossible isolated showers about southern coasts, fine elsewhere. Cool to mild ion the south grading to warm to hot in the north. moderate southwest to southeasterly winds becoming light and variable in the north during Tuesday. Winds becoming moderate westerly in the south during the period.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Thursday.Product IDS10033
