MELBOURNE - Oct 8/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over northern Victoria will continue to move eastwards overnight, reaching the Tasman Sea on Wednesday. A low pressure trough over the head of the Bight on Tuesday will reach western Victoria late on Wednesday. A cold front will follow early on Thursday and cross Victoria during the day. Another high pressure system will move rapidly eastwards from the head of the Bight early Friday to cross New South Wales later on Friday. Another cold front will cross Victoria on Saturday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine. Light to moderate west to southwesterly winds tending northwesterly in the west. Weakening seabreezes near the coast.Wednesday 9 OctoberFine apart from early morning fog patches in the east. A warm to hot and mostly sunny day, although high cloud increasing from the southwest. Fresh to strong and gusty north to northwesterly winds developing from the west, reaching gale force over elevated areas. A cooler southwesterly change reaching the in the southwest during the evening.Thursday 10 OctoberScattered showers developing from the west during the day, mainly in the south. Isolated showers developing over the northern plains. Isolated snow showers above 1300 metres at night. Fresh to strong north to northwesterly winds shifting cooler southwesterly from the west during the day.Friday 11 OctoberIsolated showers over southern and mountain areas, contracting to the coast and mostly clearing during the day. A cool and mostly cloudy day with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds.Saturday 12 OctoberScattered showers developing over western and central areas, mainly on and south of the ranges.
