Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 8/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1020 hPa near the eastern border will continue to move east over northern Victoria this evening. Northerly winds will strengthen on Wednesday, ahead of a cold front moving east and reaching Nullarbor around midday, Naracoorte to Tarcoola late evening and the far northeast corner of the State around midnight Thursday. A high pressure system will form over the Bight during Thursday before moving over the eastern states on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine conditions. Light to moderate to fresh northerly winds, fresh in the west.Wednesday 9 OctoberDry, with areas of raised dust over western districts, the Flinders, Mid North and Yorke Peninsula. Hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds, becoming strong to locally gale force and gusty about southern and elevated parts of the western, central and the southeast districts, ahead of a cooler moderate to fresh southwesterly change extending across western districts during the day and southern coasts in the evening.Thursday 10 OctoberIsolated showers developing over the agricultural areas with possible showers extending across the west coast and the southern pastorals then contracting to southern coasts by evening. Showers becoming scattered over central and eastern districts from early morning to mid afternoon. Moderate to fresh southwest winds extending throughout during the evening. Fresh northerly winds in the northeast at first with possible raised dust. Cool to mild grading to hot in the northeast.Friday 11 OctoberIsolated showers about the Lower South East, fine elsewhere. Light to moderate westerly winds in the south, fresh to strong about the coast in the morning, tending to southeast to northeast in the north.Saturday 12 OctoberIsolated showers about the Lower South East with possible showers over Kangaroo Island. Cool to mild about the coast, warm to hot inland. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds tending northwesterly in the south, freshening ahead of a moderate to fresh southerly change reaching Renmark to Coober Pedy late evening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday afternoon to midnight Saturday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the agricultural area and less than 2 mm elsewhere. Isolated falls of 5 to 10 mm are possible about the ranges and Lower South East district.Sunday until TuesdayIsolated showers south of about Adelaide with possible showers over the remainder of the southern agricultural area and Mid North on Sunday, contracting to south of Adelaide for the remainder of the period. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Moderate southerly winds extending throughout on Sunday then becoming light during Monday. Moderate to fresh westerly winds extending across southern parts on Tuesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Wednesday.Product IDS10033
