MELBOURNE - Oct 8/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system near Adelaide will move eastwards across northern Victoria on Tuesday, reaching the northern Tasman Sea on Wednesday. A low pressure trough will form at the head of the Bight on Tuesday then move eastwards towards western Victoria late on Wednesday. A cold front will cross Bight waters to link with the trough early on Thursday and push it rapidly eastwards across Victoria. Another high pressure system will move rapidly eastwards from the head of the Bight early Friday to cross New South Wales later on Friday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers in the south, contracting eastwards and clearing by early afternoon. Morning fog patches in the west and about the ranges. Mostly sunny in the north. A mild day with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds and afternoon seabreezes near the coast.Wednesday 9 OctoberFine apart from early morning fog patches in Gippsland. A warm to hot and mostly sunny day, although high cloud increasing from the southwest. North to northwesterly winds freshening from the west, then shifting cooler southwesterly in the southwest at night.Thursday 10 OctoberScattered showers developing from the west during the day, mainly in the south. Warm with fresh north to northwesterly winds shifting cooler southwesterly from the west during the day.Friday 11 OctoberIsolated showers in southern and mountain areas, scattered about the eastern ranges and near the coast, mostly clearing from the west.
