MELBOURNE - Oct 6/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high 1016 hPa over the Bight will move slowly east to be over northern Victoria on Tuesday afternoon. Northerly winds will strengthen on Wednesday ahead of a cold front moving across the west of the State on Wednesday, southern coasts in the evening and the remainder on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers about Kangaroo Island, southern Yorke and Fleurieu Peninsulas and the Lower South East district, contracting to the Lower South East during the afternoon. Fine elsewhere apart from morning fog patches over the agricultural area. Cool to mild in the south, grading to hot in the far north. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds, turning moderate to fresh southwest to southeast in the afternoon.Tuesday 8 OctoberEarly fog patches over the agricultural area, then fine. Mild in the south, grading to hot in the far north and west. Light winds, tending moderate to fresh northeasterly in the west.Wednesday 9 OctoberDry, with areas of raised dust in the west. Hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds, strengthening about western and central districts, ahead of a cooler moderate to fresh southwesterly change extending across western districts during the afternoon and southern coasts in the evening.Thursday 10 OctoberIsolated showers extending across the west coast and agricultural area with a cooler fresh southwest change, tending scattered in the southeast. Showers becoming isolated and contracting to southern coasts by evening. Moderate to fresh southwest winds extending throughout. Fresh northerly winds in the far northeast at first with possible raised dust. Hot in the far northeast, cool to mild elsewhere. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday to midnight Thursday are expected to be less than 2 mm over the agricultural area, increasing to 2 to 5 mm over the Lower South East.Friday until SundayIsolated showers about the southeast of the State. Moderate northwest to southwesterly winds, fresh to strong about southern coasts.
