MELBOURNE - Oct 6/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Bight will move slowly eastwards over the next few days, crossing Victoria during Tuesday and reaching the Tasman Sea on Wednesday. A cold front will reach southwestern Victoria later Wednesday, then move eastwards across the State on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers over southern and mountain areas. Isolated thunderstorms possible about the far eastern ranges until early this evening. Snow showers possible above 1500 metres in the evening. Partly cloudy in the north, mostly cloudy in the south. Light to moderate west to southwesterly winds.Monday 7 OctoberIsolated showers over southern and mountain areas. Early morning fog patches near the ranges and in the west. Mild and mostly sunny over the northern plains. Light to moderate west to southwesterly winds.Tuesday 8 OctoberIsolated showers in the south, clearing eastwards during the day. Morning fog patches in the west. Mostly sunny in the north. A mild day with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds and afternoon seabreezes near the coast.Wednesday 9 OctoberFine apart from early morning fog patches in Gippsland. A warm day with high cloud increasing from the west. North to northwesterly winds freshening from the west, then shifting cooler southwesterly in the far southwest at night.Thursday 10 OctoberScattered showers developing from the west during the day, mainly in the south.
