Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 4/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred over the east coast of Australia will remain slow-moving. A weak low pressure trough will move across much of the State during today, then remain slow moving over the far northeast of the State for the remainder of the weekend. Another high will move over the Bight on Sunday and reach New South Wales on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine apart from the chance of isolated light showers about Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East. Mild near southern coasts grading to hot in the north and west. Moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, freshening in the south, ahead of a cooler southerly change in the far west extending eastwards to reach eastern districts late afternoon or evening.Sunday 6 OctoberEarly morning drizzle patches in the Upper South East, Mount Lofty Ranges, Kangaroo Island and southern Yorke Peninsula districts. Fine over the remainder apart from isolated showers in the Lower South East, clearing by evening. The chance of early fog patches, chiefly over the northern agricultural area. Cool to mild in the south grading to hot in the north. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending northeast to northwesterly in the far north.Monday 7 OctoberFine apart from the chance of isolated showers about Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East district. Cool to mild in the south grading to hot in the north and west with mainly light winds.Tuesday 8 OctoberFine. Mild in the south grading to hot in the north and west. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds, turning moderate northeast to northerly in the west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday to midnight Tuesday are expected to be less than 2 mm over the Mount Lofty Ranges, Kangaroo Island, southern Yorke Peninsula and the South East district.Wednesday until FridayDry on Wednesday, then isolated showers developing on Thursday over the agricultural area and western coasts, increasing to scattered in the Lower South East. Isolated showers contracting southwards on Friday. Temperatures rising to become hot throughout on Wednesday with increasing northerly winds, ahead of a milder, fresh southwest to southerly change in the far west, extending eastwards and reaching eastern parts on Thursday. Cool in the south on Friday grading to mild in the north with fresh southwest to southeasterly winds, easing during the day.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Saturday.Product IDS10033
