Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 3/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system near Adelaide will move steadily eastwards across southern New South Wales today with a broad ridge crossing Victoria. A weak cold front will cross Bass Strait on Saturday with its northern tip affecting southern Victoria during the afternoon and evening. A small high pressure system will then move over Bight waters on Sunday to lie just west of Adelaide on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayFine apart from early fog patches. Inland early frost areas, mainly near and north of the dividing range then a mild and mainly sunny day. Light to moderate north to northwesterly winds with afternoon seabreezes along the Gippsland coast.Saturday 5 OctoberPartly cloudy with isolated showers possible near and south of the divide. A mild to warm day with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds shifting southerly in the southwest and about the central coast during the afternoon.Sunday 6 OctoberIsolated showers, mainly over southern and mountain areas becoming more extensive in the far east in the afternoon. The chance of late thunderstorms about the eastern ranges. Mild in the north but cooler and mostly cloudy in the south. Mainly moderate southwest to southerly wind.Monday 7 OctoberIsolated showers possible near and south of the ranges. Fine over the northern plains.
