MELBOURNE - Oct 3/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the eastern Bight is moving eastwards and will be centred over NSW on Friday. A weak low pressure trough will move across the State during the weekend, followed by another high which will move over the Bight on Monday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine. Cool to mild with mainly light southwest to southeasterly winds.Friday 4 OctoberFine. Cool to cold early over and to the east of the Mount Lofty Ranges with isolated frost patches. Mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the west and far north. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds turning moderate northerly during the day.Saturday 5 OctoberFine, apart from the chance of isolated light showers near the Lower South East coast. Mild near southern coasts grading to hot in the north and west. Moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, freshening in the south, ahead of a southerly change in the far west extending eastwards to reach eastern districts late afternoon or evening.Sunday 6 OctoberFine, apart from the chance of isolated showers about Kangaroo Island and the South East district. Mild in the south grading to hot in the north. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending northeast to northwesterly in the far north.Monday 7 OctoberFine, apart from the chance of isolated showers about Kangaroo Island and the South East district, clearing by evening. Mild in the south grading to hot in the north with mainly light, variable winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon to midnight Monday are expected to be less than 2 mm over Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East.Tuesday until ThursdayFine on Tuesday, then isolated showers over the southern agricultural area on Wednesday, contracting southwards on Thursday.
