Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 3/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front is moving across far northeastern New South Wales and a high pressure system north of the bight is moving east extending a ridge behind the front. This high will move over the The Tasman Sea later on Saturday and another cold front is expected to move through the state during Sunday and Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms on the southern and and central coast and ranges, contracting east and clearing. Snow showers on the Alps above 1200 metres. Partly clear elsewhere. Gusty and cold south to southwesterly winds.Friday 4 OctoberFine and mostly sunny apart from early showers on the central coastal fringe. Early frost areas on the slopes and ranges. Southerly winds near the north coast tending light and variable inland.Saturday 5 OctoberFine and mostly sunny. Early frost patches about the ranges. West to northwest winds tending east to northeasterly neat the coast.Sunday 6 OctoberThe chance of late showers on the Alps. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to northwesterly winds.Monday 7 OctoberIsolated coastal showers and isolated showers on the Alps. Southwest winds tending south to southeasterly near the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Friday.Product IDN10031
